Yesterday, at a recovery meeting, I broke 2 cardinal rules, no double dipping (speaking twice) and no crosstalk (speaking to an individual rather than the group).

What inspired me to do this was this wonderful old woman who has a myriad of health problems yet almost always shows up to help others. When she can’t drive herself, she finds a ride with another. When she was done speaking, she seemed a little down so I apologized for breaking the rules then told her how blessed we all were to have her among us. The smile that appeared on her face was well worth it! Nobody cared that I broke the rules as everyone smiled back at her.

This woman seems to care so much about others, putting them above herself, that you might say she represents Santa, albeit with a pantsuit instead of his bright red gear.

Have a Merry Christmas!

Thanks for reminding people that the true spirit of Christmas is about giving; about making others happy; and their joy uplifts the giver. It is very true that "It is better to give than to receive." Greater happiness lies in the ability to give. Wishing you and your family a Wonderful Christmas, plus, a Healthy & Happy New Year!

Starman is Santa Claus (St. Nickolas) in Polish culture. When setting the dinner table on Christmas Eve straw was placed under the tablecloth. A prayer of Thanksgiving for gtaces and blessings and serving commenced when the night stars were observed. Breaking of oplatkie bread with all the family and sips on the best alcohol from the dusty bottle under the sink. Come Starman grant us favor. Thank you Father for sending us Jesus Christ our Lord, King, and Savior. Christmas Peace and Love to all.
